I searched www.SteveMorse.org and registered at Ellis Island and did a simple search with L for the first name and V for the last name, I entered: Poland and Russia, entry date: 1914 dob: about 1892 Gender: M
I got two names and the first Vitterman, Luse is age 20 1894 from Warsaw Russia he is also Hebrew.
But the second one fits better:
Vuchschneider, Leimoel
Chelm, Russia
age 21
born 1893
Hebrew
Arrived: Feb 8 1914
Marital Statis: S
Ship: Kaiserin Auguste Victoria
Port of Departure: Hamburg
Manifest Line: 003
So my question is this: Are there more ports of entry in PA? I checked Castle Garden and it stops at 1912 I do not know if the ships stopped or if the database stops. So is it safe to assume he is my man at this stage?
