I wish you luck. It takes time and patience. I am a direct descendant from DeWalta Halberger and Elisabeth, then it goes to Mathias, George, Jacob, Joseph, Glenn, Clifford, Clifford, then me.

EXAUSTING RESEARCH.

THere is hard eveidence that DeWalta Married an Indian Wyandot Lady named Elizabeth. Thereafter, His sons Mathias and DeWalt split: Mathias returned to Pennsyvlania and fit into white culture. DeWalta stayed in the frontier and hi sons, Abraham, Issac (possible) and Jacob did Moravian missionary work with the Natives. Jacob married a full- blooded Wyandot and had kids. Abraham did the same. Isaac may have died young. We are still trying to find him.

Halberg is both a German and Jewish German name. It may be that Jewish Jews converted to the pascifist version of Christianity that the Lutheran Moravians presented. So did Indians.

Keep in touch. I have no problem with all this. Some who are narrow minded might. Don't go for the prejudice....
