Dear Kathe, Its all so weird. I mean Halberger means Hall Keeper, or Hall Shepherd, not Half Hill. If the name originally was Halbergen it might make more sense. What about the Wyandots? Sure looks like alot of intermarriage, then it seems like these people did not exist in any lore, legends or anything...Heck, my dad didn't know anything about the family much, nor did my aunt Ethel. One time, some years back, I picked out a Halfhill at random in Ohio and called him. He didn't know anything at all. We're onto the trail. You have some things to fugure out re: Rachel, I am looking to see if Jacob b. 1821 is George's son. There's the weird circumstantial stuff that sure looks Moravian. There's the Wyandot intermarriages. There's later disfunctianality run amok... Hell, My great grandfather, Ohio Glenn Halfhill, was drafted into WWI and died...Combat? Influenza? Don't know. His wife, Bessie Harris, died in childbirth just before he got drafted. Some luck, huh? His dad was Joseph Halfhill and Sarah. Joseph's dad was Jacob who was married to Mary Louise Barnhill. I believe that George must have been this Jacob's dad. Best, Phil Notify Administrator about this message?
