Help!

I seek confirmation of the following:
1) marriage of Jacob Clark and Rachel Ulm (variously spelled Wollam, Ollam, Ullom, Woolham, etc.)
2) birth of Jacob Clark
3) parents of Rachel Ulm

According to legend Jacob Clark was born on January 22, 1799 in Pennsylvania, probably in Somerset or Greene County.

He married Rachel Ullom (Wollam, Olm, Ulm, Wollen, etc.). She was born May 5, 1802, probably in Greene or Somerset County PA.

They were married before March 1 1821 in Greene or Somerset County PA.

Their children are:

James was born February 4 1827 near Hardinsburg, Washington County, Indiana, and died August 31, 1918. She was known as “Aunt Polly” in the Clark keepsake letters, according to Thaine Clark. James was a farmer. He served as a Private in Company E, 9th Indiana Volunteers, briefly, near the end of the Civil War. She and James are buried in Zion Cemetery, Republic County, Kansas.

She was born January 8, 1835 (1836) in Harrison County, Indiana. She died May 18, 1922? She is buried in Palmyra, Indiana. John married second, Sara? Monroe, (1862-1939)? He died near Hollis, Kansas?

He died January 20 1891 in Williamson County, Tennessee, from gravel or granel. He was sick one year (information found in a letter in Shem and Harry Clark's old trunk). The family moved to Tennessee in the fall of 1877 to live near Harvey Clark’s place.

8.       Lydia Jane "Liddy" (A), Clark Born October 23 1836 (1838) in Ohio. Died April 20 (22) 1908, in Harrison County, Indiana. On October 27 (26) 1867 she married John Perryman. He was born May 1836, (1835), in North Carolina. He died March 7, 1913, in Harrison County, Indiana. Eliza died June 18 1890 and is buried in the Trowbridge family plot in Zion Cemetery in Republic County, Kansas. George then married Sarah E. "Sally" Monroe in Cloud County, Kansas on June 22, 1893. George and his family lived at his homestead until 1901-2, at which time he had to give up manual labor due to failing health. They moved to Concordia. George died March 7 1906, and is buried in the Trowbridge family plot in Zion Cemetery in Republic County, Kansas. Sally died in 1939.

George J. Trowbridge was the second treasurer of Republic County, Kansas. His picture hangs in the Treasurer’s office in the Republic County Courthouse in Belleville, Kansas. He lived on the farm later owned by Leslie A. Blackwood (SW ¼, 25-4-3).

The following names were found on old calling cards belonging to Bertha Sherwood, a granddaughter of Mary M. Clark Sherwood: Lula H. Trowbridge, Minnie D. Trowbridge, Florence A. Trowbridge.

11.       Shem Wesley Clark Born July 11 1843 near Palmyra, Harrison County, Indiana. He died March 14 1922 on their homestead, northeast of Hollis, Kansas, north of Concordia, Kansas, and is buried in Zion Cemetery, Republic County, Kansas. On October 26 1865 he married at the bride’s home, near Bradford, Harrison County, Indiana to Mary Magdalene (Marilla) Deweese. She was born October 28 1845 (October 29 1846) near Palmyra, Indiana, to Nathan and Marilla Jane (Sappenfield) Deweese. She died on their homestead on January 9 1928, and is buried in Zion Cemetery, Republic County, Kansas. They belonged to the United Brethren Church in Indiana, and to the Methodist Episcopal Church, in Hollis, Kansas. They were called "stout hearted Christian pioneers". They are both buried in Zion cemetery, a short distance from their homestead. Shem was a veteran of the Grand Army of the Republic.

Shem was a farmer. He served during the Civil War in the 131st Calvary and 131st Infantry in the Grand Army of the Republic. According to a family story, Shem ran away to enlist at the age of 13 as a drummer boy, but was discharged because he was too young. He reenlisted at the age of 15. He would have been 18 when the war started. According to this same story, he may have participated in Sherman’s March to the Sea, however, neither story has been checked out.

According to another story, Shem’s farm (SW ¼, 31-4-2) was a grant from General Ulysses S Grant. Blaine Sherwood, a great-grandson of Shem’s sister Mary Clark Sherwood, later owned it. He believed that a cedar tree growing near a garage on the farm had been brought from Indiana.

12.       Rachel Suvannah Clark born October 29, 1845 (1846) in Harrison County, Indiana. Married William McKinney, August 20, 1871, in Harrison County, Indiana. Note: the 1870 census showed William McKinney, age 18, living with the Jacob Clark family.
