MARY A. GREEN, daughter of JOHN and ELIZA WEST, was born in Green County, Penn., on the 4th day of August l84l, and died at the home of her daughter, MRS. A.E. PRICE, of Van Wert, on the l9th day of February, l924, being at the time of her death, 82 years of age. In the year l86l, she was married to WILLIAM K. GREEN and to this union were born two children: MRS. J.W. MOORE, of Osceola, Iowa, and MRS. A.E. PRICE, of Van Wert, Iowa.
In the year l865, they moved to Franklin Township, Decatur County, Iowa, where they lived until the death of MR. GREEN, which occurred in the year of l903. Since that time, Mother GREEN has lived in her home in Van Wert until last fall, since which time she has made her home with her daughters. Mother GREEN has always lived a Christian life and in the year l9l2, she united with the Christian Church at Van Wert, where she held membership until the time of her death. She died as she had lived, triumphant in the Christian faith.
The funeral services were held in the Van Wert Christian Church, conducted by her Pastor, B.F. Galloway, after which the body was laid to rest beside her husband in the Van Wert Cemetery.
