Although I can't place you directly, there was a Jacob Johns family in Greene Co., PA. He married Elizabeth Smith 9 Oct 1794, daughter of Dennis and Elizabeth (Zook) Smith. She died 11 June 1853, age 77. Both Jacob and Elizabeth are buried in the Lippencott Cemetery. Their children were named in some pension records: (1)Thomas Johns born 31 Aug 1795, married 24 Feb 1826 to Mary Ross, daughter of Timothy and Rachel (Wolverton ) Ross. They supposedly went to LaSalle Co., IL and Thomas died in 1809. His children are listed as Heath, Timothy, Thomas, and Nancy who married a Braden.(2) Nancy who married John Huffman, (3) Elizabeth, who married first Samuel Finley and second _____Whiting, (4) Mary, (5) Jacob Jr., born 3 Dec 1806, died 24 Dec 1896; married 27 Mar 1834 to Elizabeth Ross, daughter of John and Phoebe (Heaton) Ross. Their children were: JR, DW, Abner, and Jacob Johns, jr., Phoebe, Timothy, and Elizabeth, (6) Rebecca who married ____Barnes, (7) Hannah, (8) Catherine who married Silas Barnes, and (9) Rachel who married Asa Mitchell.
Hope this will give you some leads.
