Seeking information on John Bailey whose son William Bailey (age 1) lived in Forest Co PA in 1870 (only mother and son in FC). John Bailey married Melissa Stephen, 1860-1870 (she was formerly Melissa Horton who married William Stephen before 1860 FC, Jefferson Co PA, and then she remarried to John Bailey). She reported in 1890 that her former husband John W. Bailey served in the Civil War. Funeral information for son William Bailey showed that his father’s family was from Armagh (Ireland) and one census record for son William showed his father was “born at sea,” while other records showed him born in Ireland and Pennsylvania. Funeral information had his (William's) mother as Melissa Stephens and she was documented as Melissa Bailey from Oil City PA when she later married in Michigan (to LaRoche).
