Looking for information regarding my great-great-grandfather, Hermann/Harmon KNOCH, born 1803 or 1804 in "Saxe-Weimar" Germany. Family story is that he was "Pennsylvania Dutch", but I have not traced him to Pennsylvania so far. Earliest record I find of him in the US is 1840, in Ross co OH where he married Maria GOLTOIA/GOLTATNE. They had 11 children in Ross co, Hermann died in 1866, and is buried in Ross co, OH. Sons names were John, Joseph, and William (my great-grandfather); daughters were Elvina, Maria, Ellen, Margaretha, Evaline, Etline/Adaline, Phebe Catharine and Louisa. If anyone has any information regarding Hermann, especially parents' names or his date of immigration, please let me know. If anyone is interested in information regarding his descendants, I have that to share.
