As a hobby, I rescue old photos that have identification on them. Awhile ago, I obtained two photos from an auction. They're of the same little girl, taken at different times of her life. One says, "Verna Arline Groff age 8 mon."
The other one says, "Verna Arline Groff age 2 years."

Then later someone wrote: "Oct. 10, 1974. This pictures was in a box of stuff I bought at a sale at Bauvill. When we boguth the china closet this person is decesed. She would be about 67 years old. Her son lives up there. She marred a man, Mr. Brown."

I did some research on this name, and came across information in a family tree on Ancestry. Verna Arline Groff b. 1913, d. 1984. (So the person was off of her death by 10 years.) Father J. Roland Groff, b. 9 Apr 1883, mother Carried L. Sheaffer b. 14 Feb. 1883. She married Harry R. Brown b. 1909. Married between 1928-1954. Verna & her parents also show up in the West Earl, Lancaster Co. PA census for 1920.

My goal is to locate family to send this to. If you wish to obtain it, contact me at: digginroots@yahoo.com

Kathy
