Fayette County tax records from Sept. 26, 1783 should be at the County Seat for Fayette County. Before that date you will have to go by the following.

Fayette County - Created Sept. 26, 1783 from Westmoreland County. The County Seat for Fayette County is Uniontown.

Westmoreland County - Created Feb. 26, 1773 from Bedford County. The County Seat for Westmoreland County is Greensburg.

Bedford County - Created March 9, 1771 from Cumberland County. The County Seat for Bedford is Bedford.

Cumberland County - Created Jan. 27, 1750 from Lancaster County. The County Seat for Cumberland County is Carlisle.

Lancaster County - Created May 10, 1729 from Chester County. The County Seat for Lancaster County is Lancaster.

Chester County - Original County created Nov. 1682. County Seat for Chester County is West Chester.
