I'm researching my ancestral family, interested in any and all Woods who lived along Pennsylvania's western border including the counties of Bedford, Washington, Allegheny, Beaver or Mercer. Woods (spelled with an S) who may be descended from that surname or who have any research to share, would be glad to hear from you all. I'm descended from a GGGF name of James H. Woods b. 1820 in PA (may have been a Jr). He also had a son of that name. The time frame I'm presently searching is from early to mid 1700 until about 1850. My ancestor lived in 1870-1880 in MO, 1860-1866 in IL, and is on 1840 census of Mercer Co, PA.
