Was your Steve Kolasar the same Stephen Colesser born April 1866 with wife Mary, born July 1871, daughters Ann and Kate and son John, living in Lower Tyrone, Fayette County, PA in 1900? If so then it is unlikely he was the Steve who lived in Ohio.

Neither the 1900 or 1910 census shows him as being naturalized but that doesn't mean he wasn't before he died.

Other than an obituary or a death certificate for Steve and Mary , the other possibility would be to find out info on the siblings. Even if they didn't come over at the same time it might help in finding out where they came from in Slovakia.

Another possibility would be to find the marriage record of the couple which would have been about 1888. The best place to start would be at the Fayette County Courthouse (marriages are recorded at the county level in Pennsylvania.

There are also Slovakian genealogy organizations: Slovak Heritage & Folklore Society International and Slovak Genealogical Research Center. They may be able to help.
