I'm looking for information about a Marcus Robert Paar, son of Marcus William Paar, son of Peter Paar.
I've been researching for quite some time and, given that this side of the family is very unsure of their origins, I haven't gotten very far. I've also found that I'm missing at least one generation. Also, these may not be the legal names. They think they are from Prussia, but claim German heritage.
I looked at the 1880 census for NY and found a Peter Paar married to a Christennah Paar with a son named Charles from Germany. At the same time there is a P. John Paar born in Prussia, married to a Margaretha Paar with a son C. Peter Paar. There is also a Caroline Paar (widowed) from Baden (??). I'm at a loss. If you have any ideas how to sort this out, let me know. I've already asked for whatever birth/death records the family has, but they are slow in finding what little they have.
