Wanda:
I have a transcription of the 1880 census of Jackson Co, AL which was done by the LDS Church (the Mormons). In this census there is one Sarah Pace who could be yours. She is age 10 in the family of Joseph Benton Pace b. 2/2/1842, b. 11/20/1905, married Margaret W. Talkington on 6/17/1860 in Jackson Co, AL. Her siblings were Johny b. abt 1862, Penilee b. 1862, Mary Malinda b. 1863, William Henry b. 1866, Louisa Jane b. 1868, Nancy Ann b. 1873, James b. 1877, Virginia M. b. 1880, O. C. b. 1884, Julia Ellen b. 1884, Ada May b. 1888 and Ellen b. 1887.
The census record is on the National Archives Film No. T9-0016 Page 130C.
Most, if not all, of the Paces in Jackson Co, AL in 1880 were descendants of William Henry Pace, Jr., b. 1792 Lee Co, VA, d. 1878 Jackson Co, AL, m. Elizabeth Wineinger 1814 Scott Co, VA. Several of the descendants of William Pace, Jr and Elizabeth married Hastings, which convinces me that your Sarah Jane Pace was part of this family.
I will send you by direct email my record of the descendants of William Henry Pace, Jr. which should, I think, convince you that your Sarah Jane was part of this family.
Gordon W. Pace
