I am searching for Richard Pace b.1855 in Ky

I know for sure our grandfather was Clarence Harley Pace , he died in Charleston, Mo, 1939. I found the funeral records for him, they list Richard Pace from Ky as his father and Mary Long Pace as his mother born in Jackson,TN.
I picked up Mary, remarried in 1910 and her Son Clarence Harley age 18 was still with her in the census record as was her husband John J Jeffords and his son Raymond, that explains why Raymond Jeffords paid for Clarence's funeral. They both went to Missouri. Also listed on the death record is Murry Pace from wash.DC ,relation unknown.
I later found Mary Long , Clarence Harleys' mother in DC, with her mother and an aunt in the 1920 census.
The only Richard Pace I have found in the appropriate age is in the 1900 census in Franklin co, KY In the penetentiary, then I can't find him again.
