Goldie,

I have a Pace connection with Escue and Frazier. My earliest known ancestor on the Pace line (not that far back, actually) was William Pace, born about 1775, possibly in NC. I don't have proof of his parentage, but per the Pace DNA study, he apparently was related to the Paces of Edgecombe Co NC.

William married a woman who was supposed to be, but I can't prove it and am not certain, part Choctaw Indian. Her grandson said she was, but again I have no proof, and she was born in North Carolina. He name was Sarah Frazier.

William and Sarah had several children, and one of them married John Escue in Maury Co. TN in the early 1820's. Her name was Alpha Oreana. Many of her descendants moved into TX after 1880.

I hope this is helpful to you. Feel free to email me.

Gale Pace Judkins
