These folks were ancestors of my granddaughter and I'd love to know more about them. Gordon Pace sent me some information on Bryant's family and I really appreciate it. I received Elizabeth Jane Pace's Civil War Pension file from the Texas State Archives the other day and would like to share two things that Elizabeth stated on her application. She said that Bryant Pace died in 1865 in the war and that they married 19 Sep 1840 in GA. Thanks to Gordon, I found Bryant and family in the 1850 Stewart Co., GA census and Elizabeth and some of their children in the 1870 Miller Co., GA census. I can't find them in 1860. Elizabeth was living with her son, James in 1880 Grimes Co., TX:

1880 Grimes Co., TX census, Precinct 2, NARA Film T9-1307, Page 88C:

James N. Pace, self, male, single, white, 22, farmer, GA, GA, GA; and Elizabeth J. Pace, mother, female, widow, white, 55, at home, GA, VA, VA.

(I don't know what happened to James N. Pace; I can't find him in 1900.)

The 1900 Grimes Co., TX census shows:

1900 Grimes Co., TX census, 2nd Precinct, taken 30 Jun 1900, NARA Series: T623 Roll: 1640, Supervisor's District 11, Enumeration District 19, sheet 27a, Page: 89a, dwelling 418-418, lines 12-15:

Alice B. Bromlow, head, white, female, Jul 1855, 44, widow, 3 children born, 3 living, GA, GA, VA, farmer, zero months unemployed, can read and write and speaks English, rents a farm, farm schedule 400; Lou Ella, daughter, white, female, Sep 1881, 18, single, TX, AR, GA, can read and write and speaks English; Hattie D., daughter, white, female, May 1884, 16, single, TX, AR, GA; and Elizabeth J. Pace, mother, white, female, Apr 1825, 75, widow, 10 children born, 5 living, GA, VA, VA, can read and write and speaks English.

Alice B. Brumbelow was Alice B. Pace, and she in 1910 she was living in Runnels Co., TX with her daughter, Hattie D. Brumbelow, and son-in-law, Dudley E. Bradshaw.

If anyone has any information on this family, I'd love to hear from you and I will be happy to share what I have. Please contact me at clarksha@swbell.net or here on this forum.
