Could you tell me where you got the 1840 marriage date?
I was originally told that they married May.25.1849 in Fluvanna Co., but I think that was more likely when/where Mary died.
Their son Joseph Henderson was b: 1841 and son David W, was b: 1844.
In 1850 both boys were living with a Sarah King in Fluvanna Co. while Hudson was living in a Chandler household in Roanoke Co. Two years later he married his second wife Martha Short in Roanoke Co. VA.
In 1860 Hudson, Martha and 5 children are all together again living in Bedford Co. VA.
Since Hudson & Mary are found in the 1840 census for Albemarle Co., VA we had "guestimated" the marriage for maybe 1839 or 1840. We'd like to pin-point it for sure if you could help.
