PACE, MARTHA E. CHAMBLISS - 82, of Batesville died Sunday, May 25, 2008. She was
born February 17, 1926 in Knox County, Tennessee to James A. and Nancy
(Lawhorne) Chambliss. Martha was a homemaker and worked for 10 years at UT
Hospital in Knoxville in the sterilization department. She enjoyed flower
gardening, needlepoint, sewing and working in the yard. Martha was a godly woman
with strong morals and ethics. She saw that other people were taken care of
including her parents and her husband. She was a member of the West Baptist
Church and a former member of the Broadway Baptist Church in Knoxville.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, R. David and Ann Pace; two
grandchildren, Andrew and Rebecca Pace; and two nephews, William & James Knight.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wendell
Pace and sister, Anna Louise Knight. Graveside services are at 10:00 a.m. Friday
at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee with Rev!
erend R. David Pace officiating. There is no visitation planned. Memorials may
be made to Broadway Baptist Church, 815 N. Broadway Street, Knoxville, TN 37917
