I have just noticed your post. My original purpose in reviewing the Pace forum, was to see if I could find out any information on George William DeLaughter Sr., the father of George William DeLaughter Jr., married to Charity Pace. I had no idea how interesting, complicated and confusing the Pace ancestry was.
Until now George W DeLaughter Sr. was just a footnote in history. I posted on the Pace forum the following. http://genforum.genealogy.com/pace/messages/4762.htmlhttp://genforum.genealogy.com/pace/messages/4762.html
As in the Pace genealogy, there are a lot of unanswered questions about the DeLaughter genealogy in the Ninety-Six District, which may never be answered.
I have read a lot about the Ninety-Six District and the role it played during the American Revolution, but I have not gotten into the Indian Wars, which is my next project. If I come across anything on Richard Pace, I will pass it on. As in the Pace family, George Sr. settled the Ninety-Six District around 1758.
