Hi Ken,
I don't think our great grandmother was an Aunt to the Pope. I'm still researching. Eugenio's father, Filippo, had a sister named Felice and 11 brothers. I found only three: Ernesto, Giuseppe and Vincenzo. I know there were more siblings but can't find any records as yet.
I had heard she was a cousin. Her date of birth is only 15 years beyond Filippo's birth. She was about 21-22 years old when Eugenio was born.
My contact in Italy (Vincenzo Pacelli) had told me that their was a reference to ten siblings mentioned of Filippo's father and they were all males so I'm fairly certain she was not an aunt to the Pope. I'm more inclined to think she could have been a cousin.
