Hi there!
My name is Tom Pacetti, son of Nello Pacetti, grandson of Uriano Pacetti, who came to the US from Italy approximately 1904. Grandpa never talked too much about his roots (he wasn't one of those who longed to go back to Italy - unlike his wife), but I vaguely remember him saying when I was very young that he lived within a day's walk of Rome. I could easily be wrong, though. Uriano landed in Chicago, but moved to Kenosha, WI, a short while later.
My sister, Elaine Nelson, is a folk music fan (as am I) who lived in Barrington, IL. She went to see Sam Pacetti when he played at the local library, and introduced herself to him. I never got a chance to see him, but I bought a CD of his and came away impressed with his talent. I must say I was surprised to hear that there are so many Pacettis in Florida. I naturally am curious to know where the link is in our past.
