Pam,

I had a similar problem in my line. We supposedly had a Bill Smith in Canada that our Sawicki line was related too. It always puzzled me. I found his daughter in Canada in the spring. Bill was born Alexander Sawicki, joined the US army and deserted, so he fled to Canada and changed his name!!!!!

I have been searching the surname Pacewicz for 10 years, very hard to find info on this name. I hired a genealogist in Lithunia and she found my ggrandmother and her family (she was born in Lithuania)

BTW, Pacewicz is a noble name, some from Poland but all originated from Lithuania. My genealogist is still working on finding out what noble family she came from, it is written in church records that it was a noble family she came from.

Good luck in your search,

Regards,

Robin
