I have since found out that the name pacey originated in france according to a coat of arms i have accessed it reads-this name is french in origin and comes from PACY-SUR-EUSE in the euse region of normandy.
Names of this type were brought to ENGLAND in the wake of the norman conquest in 1066. The first instance of the name appearing in early records is in 1158 in the pipe rolls registration for Nottinghamshire where ROBERT DE PEISSI is recorded. Later it appears in the cursory rolls for Warwickshire in 1214 as DE PACY.
