Pacheco 1400-1900
Posted by: Leonardo Pacheco Date: August 15, 2000 at 01:53:24

My brother spent many years in Spain and discovered the Pacheco Coat of Arms. The Pacheco family in Spain was recognized by the King for loyal service to the throne. My family was given a Spanish land grant dated back to the early 1800's and consisted of 15 sections of land in southern New Mexico. My Grand father, Leonardo, was born there. He married Jesusita Cordova from Las Cruces, NM. The Pacheco's have a long proud linage. A Spanish army officer named Pacheco discovered the route from Yuma, Arizona to San Diego,CA. today called Interstae 8. Rufulio Pacheco was one of the first governors of California. I have other information I will share when my research is ready.
