PACHECO in Sao Miguel (St. Michael's), Azores

Hello. I haven't researched my friend's PACHECO / MOURA family tree in well over a year. This morning I decided to go check out the archives of the AZORES Boards to see if anything new has been posted.

I noticed that there have really not been any postings about the PACHECO surname from the AZORES (Sao Miguel) in almost 2 years !

I was wondering if anyone had come across any new information. Or, I was wondering if researchers wanted to post a brief summary of the PACHECO family you are researching, so that we can all compare notes with each other !

I am looking for more information on Joseph PACHECO and Jacintha de Jesus COSTA in the village of Sao Roque, Sao Miguel, Azores !

The only thing I know about them is that they had a son, Antonio PACHECO, born anywhere around 1885, who came to the U.S. around 1905, and settled in Cambridge, MA.

I cannot find any information on Antonio before he married in Cambridge, MA, to Elise "Elsie" MOURA. So, I don't know if he had siblings. I don't know who his contact was when he arrived in Massachusetts. And, I don't know if he had relatives in Massachusetts.

He was killed in a car accident in 1928 in Taunton, MA, and left a widow, pregnant with twin boys and with 5 young children !

Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA)

P.S. More information is posted in the archives of this Board.

P.S. 2 Mrs. Elsie PACHECO lost the twin boys before they reached Age 2, and had already lost other children, but she did raise 5 to adulthood (3 are still living).

She told her grandchildren stories about her family, but didn't really discuss her late husband's family - so no PACHECO family stories came down to them.

P.S. 3 There were other PACHECO families living in Cambridge, MA, at the same time they did. But, my friend, Bob, has no knowledge of them being related to him !

(Also in Somerville, MA.)
