According to the Rootsweb Town Finder,
http://resources.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/townco.cgi
there are 21 towns named Midway in Tennessee, so you REALLY need the county on it. That's the most number of towns with the same name in a single state I've ever seen.

Your first step would be to find out what county; then write to the county courthouse for a death certificate and the county library for an obituary. While you're waiting for the snail mail, you could browse the appropriate US Gen Web county site for Pack and Kesterson.

The Mormons added the 1880 census to their mega-site, at
http://www.familysearch.org/

There is just one Noah Pack born within 2 years of 1872 in the US. It looks like him:

Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace
Noah PACK Self Male W 42 TN Laborer TN TN
Sarah PACK Wife M Female W 44 TN Keeping House TN TN
Ellen PACK Dau S Female W 19 TN At Home TN TN
Mary E PACK Dau S Female W 15 TN At Home TN TN
Thomas PACK Son S Male W 13 TN Laborer TN TN
Willie PACK Son S Male W 11 TN TN TN
Elisha PACK Son S Male W 8 TN TN TN
Noah PACK Son S Male W 6 TN TN TN
Emma PACK Dau S Female W 2 TN TN TN

(They line up on the web site)

So, your Noah's father was also Noah. Noah Sr. was born about 1838, and, assuming Ellen there was their first child, married about 1860. The 1860 fits, BUT;
1) Ellen might be the oldest living child
2) Sarah might be a second wife
3) They may never have married at all

The IGI, at the same site, has a Noah Pack marrying a Sarah GRAGG on 30 AUG 1857 in Greene [County], Tennessee. So, it looks a lot like all three warnings up above are useless. That gives you another surname to look for, but - try GREG, GREGG and GRAG as well.

I'll leave Lydia for you to do. Noah Sr. isn't on RootsWeb's World Connect at all, and his parents are not on the LDS site. There are hundreds more to search through. I have links to 11 of the biggest free ones and some hints for beginners on my web site, at
