Hi Betty.
You aren't the only one who has hit that brick wall on Sarah Layne! Here is all I have on her. According to posts made at Real- McCoy.com, Asa Peter McCoy & Sarah Layne were never married but they did have 9 children together, 8 girls and 1 boy. There is also a book,which is hard to find, called "The McCoys,Their Story as told to Truda Williams, who is the author.
My records indicate that your Great Grandmother Alifair married Joe Pack. Joe was a brother to my wife's paternal grandfather whose name was Albert Pack. Do you show this?
If you will go to Real-McCoy.com , look for either Asa Peter McCoy or Sarah Layne and you will see my along with others post about them. ( I am jc in ky) No one has been able to come up with any information about her parents or siblings. Hopefully one day some one will .
