He's a mystery, all right. If he was one of my relatives I guess he kept moving and changing his story because he lit out two steps ahead of a jealous husband. We Packs, especially those of us with wavy hair, have always been irresistable to women. I won't speculate on your relations, though.

Here is a summary of what I found

Census State
1840 - Not stated
1850 - Tenn
1860 - Ky (Mortality schedule)
1870 - Not stated
1880 - Ky (F. T. & Nancy say their father b. Ky. I can find lots of Peters and James, can't tell which ones are Elisha's kids, so I can't compare what they say.)

Here are the details

If you go to Google.com and use this argument

"Elisha Pack" OR "Pack, Elisha"

(you must use double quotes and "or" has to be all caps)
you get 200 hits. One of them is:
http://www.netease.net/wayne/unionbaptist2.htm
which is where Elisha preached before he moved.

No answers, just more questions. I still have my wavy hair, though.
