Benjamin D. Pack and Thomas Pack Relationship

I am attempting to determine the relationship of Thomas Pack, 1790 NC - 1856 TN to Benjamin D. Pack, 1789 -1858. B. D. Pack gave witness in estate lawsuit of Thomas Pack stating they were distanct cousins. They are both buried in Cheatham County, TN (formerly Davidson County). Benjamin obtained the marriage license for Thomas to get married and Thomas named a son Benjamin. Why was Thomas in Jackson county and who was the John Pack he was living with in McMinn (county?),TN? I believe Benjamin was already in Davidson County. Benjamin is buried in our family cemetery with his wife Elizabeth Garland which makes my think he came here with Elizabeth's family (also my family). Any help with this puzzle will be greatly appreicated. I have more local information on the Packs and Garlands I will gladly share.
