Hi Crystal,

Birth, death or marriage dates would help someone - especially someone wise, witty, warm, well read and devilishly handsome - who wanted to help, especially if he answered PACK queries the way normal people do crossword puzzles - but wasn't familiar with the branch.

Secondly, if we post answers here, instead of e-mailing you, then everyone with an interest in Isham can see what we find.

Finally, if you change your e-mail address, don't forget to go back to EVERY post you've made and post a follow-up to it with your new one. I've had responses to messages 1, 3, and 6 years old.

Isham is a man of much confusion.

This is the wrong one:

12 people have one Isham Pack or the other, with wife Sally Lawson, on RWWC,

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi

2 have no birth date, 7 have him b. 1834, 3 have him born 1800-1803. Many of them have him dying in 1854.

The three that have him b. 1800 have his parents John and Matilda. That looks like they are confusing the 1800 Isham with the 1834 one, unless there were two Johns married to two Matildas back then. Note she is "Matilde" in th e1850. Strong, honest, hard-working straight-shooting men sometimes spell creatively.

Jane Warrick left this post-em on one of the 1834 Ishams:

This Isham never married. His death certificate indicated that John Pack was his "step" father. The Isham Pack b. 1796/1802 who married Sally Lawson had four children--Jane who married Galen Bowman; Millie who married John Newman, James M. who married Martha A. Hooker and Mary. After Sally died on 15 Jun 1853, Isham married Mary Ann Bowman and they had three children--Floyd, Rachel and Rosa, This Isham lived to be quite an old man. The Isham that was the son of John and Matilda had no children. The older Isham's father was Thomas Pack

I found some census entries for James.

Everyone b. Virginia. The next HH is a Susan Lawson, age 44, seamstress, and her daughter Pricilla, 16, weaver.

In 1850 there is one James Pack b. 1832 or so in Patrick County:

1800 Isham didn't die in 1854:

Isham Pach 57

I am out of time. This may confuse matters more than it helps.
