There is a lot of speculation, but no proof, that the Frederick County Samuel and George are brothers, and Samuel is my 4th great grandfather. He shows up on the New River, runs a ferry, makes whiskey, keeps slaves, doesn't say where he is from or why he wanted to live 6 ridges west of Civilization, marries Mary (Polly) Farley about 1776, dies in 1833. He would have been just about the right age to grab his musket and join the militia in 1775
My DNA matches 34 out of 37 points to a man who is descended from the George Pack who died in Frederick County MD in 1754. He names several adult children, including a Samuel and a George, in his will, and some minor children. We speculate that 1754 George's son Samuel was the father of the militia George and Samuel.
