According to the 1830 census of Patrick County, Virginia, the following PACK and COLE families were enumerated as residents of that county. JAMES PACK: 1 male (JAMES) 50-60; 1 male 20-30; 1 male 15-20; 1 female (MARTHA) 50-60; 1 female 30-40; 1 female 15-20. ISHAM PACK: 1 male (ISHAM) 30-40; 2 males 10-15; 1 male 5-10; 1 male under 5; 1 female (SALLY/SARAH) 20-30; 1 female 5-10. ELIZABETH PACK: 1 female (ELIZABETH) 40-50; 1 female (POLLY) 5-10; 1 male (HARDIN ?) 10-15. GREEN PACK: 1 male (GREENVILLE) 20-30; 1 female (NANCY) 20-30; 1 female 5-10; 2 females under 5. JOHN COLE: 1 male (JOHN) 70-80; 1 male 20-30; 1 female 20-30; 1 female 5-10; 1 female under 5. It appears likely that JOHN COLE could have had a son and his wife and children living with him in 1830. If it was not a son, it could have been a son-in-law and daughter with their children living with them. I have posted the 1840 census on my posting dated July 20, 1999 under the heading of GREENVILLE PACK's marriage in 1850. I recommend that you compare the two census'.
