Thought you might be interested in this info. Wasn't sure which to post this info to since there are several related to this. I have posted this to Jane Wrraick also since she is following this line. According to the marriage entry at Patrick for Isham PACK marriage to Mary Bowman 19 Nov 1853, James Pack Sr & Martha Hooker was not his parents. It has listed s/o Thomas PACK and d/o Norman Bowman. But, there was another entry for a William PACK marriage to Jane Sutherland 5 Aug 1858. The parents were listed as s/o J & N PACK and d/o L & F Sutherland. So, looks like there must have been a Joseph/James PACK & Nancy(?) in Patrick. So, Greenville and a William were the children of J & N PACK. Isham was not his brother. Also, there is two marriages for a Ruth Pack to G Bowman 9 Feb 1877 and second marriage of a Thomas PACK Sept 1891 with no father listed, but both states a Sallie PACK as their mother. The children of Greenville and his second marriage to ?Susan? Parr? were: Thomas, Ruth, Elizabeth, and William according to the 1860 census. It's possible if she died while they were small, they really didn't know her real name. But, they both did state it was Sallie PACK. In the 1907 Dawes Roll Indian applications of Samuel, Floyd, and Elijah PACK, they mention Mary Bowman & Isham Sr as grandparents and mentions James Sr. also. A bit confusing at the moment. So, who was J & N Pack? Was Martha Hooker really James Sr. second marriage? Is this the reason none of the children were listed in the wills. Or, was the group of PACKS really the ones from Rowan County, NC that you mention that didn't make it to Tenn? And the search goes on. Hank
