That date of birth is incorrect. The Elijah Packard who was born 20-Oct-1762 was the son of Elijah and Mary (Ames) Packard [Bridgewater VR 1:241], and he married 21-Oct-1783 Keziah Ames, daughter of John and Susanna (Howard) Ames [West Bridgewater VR 120, 161; Bridgewater VR 2:32, 276].
Elijah, son of Nathan and Lydia (Jackson) Packard was born about 1767, as his gravestone in Coweeset Cemetery, Brockton, gives his date of death as 22-Feb-1832, and his age as in his 66th year [Brockton VR 348].
This branch of the Packard family undoubtedly lived in the vicinity of Marshall Center in the southwestern corner of Bridgewater North Parish (now Brockton), as Elijah and his wife Susanna were buried in Coweeset, as were Elijah's parents and some of his children and children-in-law.
