Hi Dale

The Papers on The History of the Town of Enfield and New Hampshire from Dartmouth Rauner collection provided newsclippings from 1893. One is "Postmaster Packard's father, Sylvanus W. Packard aged 78 died December 23 of pneumonia in Hanover near Olcott Falls....body placed in tomb in Oak Grove Cemetery, and in the Spring will be buried at Enfield Center. The deceased formerly lived at the Center and carried on the manufacture of pails and tubs. A second wife survives him, but at this writing is seriously sick and doubtful about recovery." Another "Sarah A. Packard, widow of late S.W. Packard, died December 29 in Han0over and Monday on January 1 her remains were brought here and placed in the tomb beside those of her husband who died December 23."

The Postmaster above is Charles A. Packard. His death notice printed on 11-20-1917. states that ...."Mr. Packard was born in Cornish, March 23 1844 and was the eldest son of S.W. Packard and Sophronia (Coburn) Packard. He has lived in Enfield for 52 years ..........

I have a PDF file with pictures of pages that include reference to Sylvanus Wheeler and Charles A. Packard from a Book about Enfield.

If you would like to see I could send as an attachment (tried to cut and paste but won't cooperate).

My deceased uncle's notes say that he is buried in Plot 51 in Enfield Center Cemetery.
Death record stated father's name as Mason.
Death certificate said Plainfield was place of birth
Death certificate gave father's name as Philip B. from Easton MA.

I have 1820, 1830 US Grantham census with Mason Packard
1850 census with Sylvanus W. Packard in Cornish NH
1870 census with Sylvanus Packard in West Lebanon, NH

Thank you for your interest.

Michele Packard
