Andrew Watson was born in New Hampshire to John and Margaret (Forbes) Watson. In 1823, he married Sally in New York (I can't remember my source for that date, but I will get back to you on that).

After Cyrus Packard (Sally's father) died in 1825, the children received shares of his large estate. All of Sally's siblings except for Lucretia and Betsey moved to Michigan in the 1830s. Actually, a huge portion of the population of NY State moved to Michigan during the 1830. The land was selling for a low price which was not only a great way to acquire a huge farm but also to make an investment. I have 1837 as a Michigan arrival for Andrew and Sally.

Yes, the Andrew and Sally in Kent County, Michigan are definitely the same Andrew and Sally from Perinton. They even had a son who they named Cyrus Packard Watson after Sally's father.

If you want even more information, just e-mail me or respond to this post.

-Mary E. Packard
