I have begun the rather large task of scanning my issues of Packard's Progress and putting them into PDF files. Those files will be posted on my web site for all to access - I will keep you informed about the progress. The first batch should be online within about a week. I am assembling a list of major articles in each issue, and that list will also be posted. Eventually, if I get ambitious, I may undertake an every-name index (although that will be a lot of work).
I think this is a worthwhile effort, as I know of no complete sets in libraries other than NEHGS and the Library of Congress (though I suppose one or more of the libraries in the Bridgewaters might have a set). There is so much useful information in those issues that I believe they should be available to all.
I do not have a complete collection, and have a few missing or damaged pages in the issues that I do own. I would like to ask your help to try to make this collection complete. If you have any of the issues (or pages) that I lack, and you have a flatbed scanner, you can help by scanning pages (I will let you know what scanner settings to use) and emailing the raw scans to me. I will crop and adjust the images so all issues will match as closely as possible, and assemble the PDFs for posting. Here is what I lack:
Volumes 1 - 14
Volume 15 (I have Issue 3, Aug. 1990, but need the other issues in that volume)
Volume 35 to the end of publication - was that 1999?
In addition, I need copies of the following pages, which are missing or damaged:
Volume 15, Issue 3 (Aug., 1990), pp. 70-72 - LDS / IGI as of 1988 for Mass.
Volume 20 (Nov., 1991), p. 23
