Jeff - if I get to be a pain, please let me know. However, I now have a conflict in my records. According to an 1850 census, William and Dolly had a son named Erskine that was 14 at the time of the Census. That would put his birth around 1836. (This would lead me to believe that this Erskine is the Lemuel Erskin Packard you detailed in your reply.) Then, according to an 1850 Census, Silas and Sally had a son named Lemuel that was 10 at the time of the Census. That would put his birth around 1840. What confuses me is that according to an 1880 Census, there is a Lemuel Packard that was 40 at the time of the census, putting his birth again around 1840. (Interesting note is that this record is listed after that of William and Dolly which I would assume means they were neighbors.) His wife is named as Jane, age 37 which would put her birth around 1843 and this matches your information for Frances Jane. The children are listed as Ruth (b abt 1873), Bonnie (b abt 1872), and a son (b abt 1869 - I believe his name was Canton). Lewis, who would have been 16 is not mentioned. Are you sure that Lemuel Packard, father of Lewis, Husband of Frances Jane, is the son of William and Dolly and not Silas and Sally? Were you aware that Lewis had siblings? Being that you are a true decendant, I would assume you know best. Notify Administrator about this message?
