PACKARD, GERRY JEAN
CAMBRIDGE -- Gerry Jean Packard, age 64, of Cambridge, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at her home. Gerry was born in Mounds, Ill., Sept 22, 1937, the daughter of Gerald L. and Edith Marie (Jackson) Palmer. She graduated from Ferguson High School in Ferguson, Mo. On April 27, 1957, Gerry married Robert Packard in Ferguson. Gerry worked as a bookkeeper for the Melster Candy Company in Cambridge for 15 years. She also worked as a teacher's aide for the Cambridge School District for several years. Gerry was a charter member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cambridge. She enjoyed watching high school sporting events and was an avid cook who loved to entertain for family. Surviving are her husband, Robert Packard, Cambridge; daughters, Judy L. Packard, Reston, Va., and Janet (Barry) Benson, Cambridge; son, Richard (Judy A.) Packard, Cambridge; four grandchildren, Alyssa and Christopher Benson, and Sarah and C.J. Packard; sister, Margaret Ann (James) Richards, Mounds, Ill.; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place Sunday, May 5, 2002, at 2 p.m. at NITARDY FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL., Cambridge. The Rev. Kevin McKenney will officiate. Burial will be in Lake Ripley Cemetery, town fo Oakland. Friends may call Saturday, May 4, 2002, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church or Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson.

Packard, Cambridge; four grandchildren, Alyssa and Christopher Benson, and Sarah and C.J. Packard; and a sister, Margaret Ann (James) Richard, Mounds, IL.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 5th at Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel in Cambridge. The Rev. Kevin McKenney officiated. Burial was in Lake Ripley Cemetery.
If so desired, memorials may be made to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church or Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson.

PERSONAL NOTE FROM HER DAUGHTER (J.L. Packard):
Prior to working as a Teacher's Aide in the Cambridge School System; she was a Cook at a (rural) school in Rockdale, WI. Before that, she was a baby sitter for the children (Tammie & Tom) of Michael & Paula Bamlett of Cambridge, WI; and worked for them for several years.
