I'm also a Packer from Western PA, specifically Allegheny Co, and wonder if you ever heard any of these names: John Howard Packer (my grandfather) or James Herbert Packer (my great-grandfather), supposedly twin brother of Elizabeth Packer (both born Feb. 1856). James H. supposedly ran away from home SOMEWHERE in Pennsylvania and never spoke about his family again--frustrating! I'd love to hear any info. you may have.
