This is a pretty old message but I just thought I would respond to let you know that there is also a Bob Packett here in Kansas City, Missouri. He is a history teacher at Park Hill High School and he also teaches courses at night at some of the colleges in the area. He could best be described as slightly eccentric and extremely intelligent. If I remember correctly he said that he originally lived out east somewhere when he was a kid. Baltimore I believe. I had a class with him one time at Maple Woods Community College. His course was pretty tough but I had a great time. You should really get to know him. Here are some links to some stuff I dug up about him on the internet for ya.
