Decendents of Alfred and Sarah Packham; Mayfield/Tunbridge

My gggrandfather was Frederick Packham, born in Mayfield Sussex in 1838. He was the son of Alfred and Sarah Packham. The family moved to Tunbridge Wells sometime in the late 1840's. Frederick married Ann Vidler in 1864 and they had 1 child, Benjamin.

Ann later married John Neal Jeffrey in 1970, apparently thinking Frederick had died, and they immigrated (with Benjamin) to Indiana in 1871. Oddly, according to the 1871 Census in England, Frederick was alive and staying with his parents - his occupation is listed as 'engine driver' (ie, he drove a train) which could explain long absences.

Frederick seems to have disappeared entirely after 1871. If anyone is related to this line of Packham's, and/or might have stories, or history, I would be delighted to share.

Beverly
