Hope you dont mind me repling to your message. Its quite possible that your family history goes back a long way, you could have relatives over here in the UK.
My research so far has reveled that the name Packwood originated from an area of Warwickshire just south of Birmingham ,originally would have been spelt pacca woode. Anyway get all the info you can from family and then start digging. If I can help let me know.
