Hi Libby The Name Mc Gowan is quite common in the Ballina, Co mayo & Sligo areas, As is Cababine in the Ballina & Bellmullet areas. Brian Ruiadh Ruaidh Cearbhain. In English = Red Brian Carabine, Who was from Inver Belmullet, Co. Mayo ireland 1648.
