In response to Linda, I have found some information on a Samuel Paden, christened July 19,1840 in Templpatrick, Antrim,Ireland. Then another Samuel Paden was born 7/20 1864 in Aghadowey, Londonderry Ireland. Since my greatgrandmother Salina "Walker" Paden also had a brother named Samuel I feel this may be a connection.
I am not sure if it was a custome to give the daughter the mothers maiden name as a middle name.So there may even be a connection with your great grandfather by since his last name was Walker. I have also had access to the 1900 census and found that my ggrandmother immigrated to US in 1882. I have not made much progress to this point. Thank you for your note and let me know if you find any additional info with Walker or Paden.
