I have just finished reviewing the 1850 and 1860 Dekalb County, Ga census. I found it interesting that in the 1850 census Elizabeth Jennings(the grandma in the letter)and her son, Flavius Josephus Jennings, are living nextdoor to James M. Paden in the Black Hall District. In the 1860 census Elizabeth and her unmarried son are living near Thomas N. Paden. Also, it is to be noted that the Padens and Jennings were both in South Carolina before moving to Georgia. I think there maybe a relationship here.
