Thomas Noteman PADEN was my Great-GreatGrandfather. Thomas, son of James PADEN, House of Thomas, was born December, 23, 1818 in S.C, probably Spartenburg Co, and died July 9, 1892 Dekalb Co. GA. He is buried in Rock Spring Presbyterian churchyard, Atlanta. Thomas married Nancy GUESS.

Thomas Noteman PADEN was a farmer owning land on and around the present site of Emory University in Atlanta. He served as Dekalb Co. Road Commisioner 1832 - 1878. During the War Between the States he was a 2nd Corp, Cavalry, in the Dekalb Silver Greys.I know of no career in real estate.

I would appreciate any information that you may find on him. Thanks!
