I have not heard of a Padfield family coat of arms, but would be interested in knowing what was on it and the background associated with it.
MY Padfield family live in Wales, U.K. My father, Keith Padfield, did some research into the family a few years back and traced our branch back to an Issac Padfield who was born in 1844 in Clutton, Nr Bath, England.
Isaac was a blacksmith and married Ann Moon, they moved to the Welsh coalfields where Issac worked underground. They lived in Blaina, South Wales.
Issac was my ggGrandfather.
He had a son, James b. 1871. James was also a miner. James had a son Noel Padfield who was born in 1912, Noel followed his father down the mine at the age of 14, where he worked for 50 years.
We have now arrived at MY father Keith Padfield, he went down the mine at the age of 18 and became an electrical engineer at a number of coalmines in South Wales. Then in 1988 worked for British Steel as an electical project engineer at Port Talbot and Llanwern steel works where he is currently working.
Keith's son (my brother) Marc Padfield was born 30.06.77 and is the first generation since Isaac Padfield in the 1800's not to work in a coal mine.
