Does anyone have an Ann PADFIELD married to John CARTER about 1835 in or near Paulton, Somerset, England? The IGI has Ann as PADFREED, but I've not found that surname anywhere else.

I'm actually looking for the parents of Samuel CARTER born 1835-1836 in Paulton. According to the IGI, John CARTER and Ann (Padfreed) had a son named Samuel born in 1836. The family story is that Samuel's wife's name was Elizabeth Winston and that Samuel's father was an Anglican? priest. (As with most family stories these "facts" may or may not be correct.)

Our line of Carters moved from Somerset to Monmouth to Glamorgan to eastern Pennsylvania to mine coal. Part of the family stayed in Glamorgan.

Any clues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Cindy
